Closson Chase Vineyards

What began as a refresh to their existing Flash website became an overhaul to improve SEO and improve online content. The website was fully redeveloped into a WordPress-format for easier updates and continuous fresh content. The Our Wines, Purchase, About and What's New sections were completely revisited to improve the overall design and functional needs.

With the Seriously Cool Chardonnay 2011 event on its way in March, Closson wanted to undertake the development of a flexible media kit that could be used in a number of applications. The kitfolder component, horizontally-oriented with a large pocket for inserts, was the first step in developing the kit. It could stand-alone as a sales tool or have the media kit booklet stapled into the spine. A punch was included for custom alloy flash drives to include additional electronic materials or, simply, a business card.

The booklet was approached with simplicity and elegance, like all of Closson Chase's material, and made use of simple b/w photography, by world-renowned photographer Michael Kenna, and a red drawn from Closson's inspirational painting, by master printmaker David Blackwood. The composition portrays a simple editorial approach to design and highlights clean typography.
